Dolphin Emulator is the premier free and open-source emulator for running Nintendo GameCube and Wii titles on modern systems. It converts original disc image files (.ISO / .RVZ / .WBFS) into playable mobile applications, offering resolution upscaling, custom shader options, aspect ratio controls, and save state features at zero cost.

Because running two complete home console generations on mobile hardware demands high processing power, performance relies directly on your device's processor, RAM, and graphics drivers:

  • Android Devices: Dolphin requires a 64-bit processor, Android 5.0+, and OpenGL ES 3.0 / Vulkan support. Recent high-end devices deliver smooth gameplay, whereas older 32-bit hardware cannot run the emulator. Official builds can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store.
  • iPhone & iPad (DolphiniOS): Since Apple does not allow standalone desktop console emulators on the official App Store, iOS and iPadOS users rely on the specialized DolphiniOS project. It supports iOS 14 and higher without requiring a jailbreak, though it must be installed using sideloading tools like AltStore or Sideloadly.

Note: Neither Dolphin nor DolphiniOS includes game ROMs or ISO files. Users must supply their own legally owned and dumped game files.

Download DolphiniOS - GameCube & Wii Emulator for iOS Devices

Follow the instructions below according to your mobile platform:

DolphiniOS iPA for iPhone & iPad (iOS 14+)

  1. Set up AltStore or Sideloadly on your PC or Mac.
  2. Download the official DolphiniOS IPA file.
  3. Sideload the IPA onto your iPhone or iPad using your Apple ID.
  4. On your device, open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and tap Trust on your developer profile.
  5. Launch DolphiniOS and transfer your legally dumped GameCube/Wii game files using the Files app.

Dolphin Emulator Premium Pro APK for Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your 64-bit Android device and search for Dolphin Emulator.
  2. Tap Install (requires Android 5.0+, 64-bit CPU, OpenGL ES 3.0+).
  3. Launch the app and tap Add Games Folder or the + Icon.
  4. Select the directory where your GameCube or Wii game files (.ISO / .WBFS / .RVZ) are stored.
  5. Tap on your game title from the library to start playing. If performance stutters, lower the internal resolution in graphic settings.

DolphiniOS & Dolphin FAQ

What iOS version is required for DolphiniOS?

DolphiniOS supports iOS and iPadOS versions starting with iOS 14. It does not require jailbreak, but must be installed using a sideloading tool like AltStore.

What hardware is required for Dolphin on Android?

Dolphin Android requires a 64-bit ARM processor, Android 5.0 or higher, and OpenGL ES 3.0 or Vulkan graphics support. Older 32-bit devices cannot run Dolphin.

Does Dolphin include GameCube or Wii ROMs?

No. Dolphin and DolphiniOS are emulators only. You must supply your own legally dumped game files (.ISO, .RVZ, or .WBFS format).

Can I use external Bluetooth controllers?

Yes. Both Dolphin Android and DolphiniOS support external Bluetooth gamepads (such as Xbox, PlayStation, or MFi controllers) alongside touch controls.

Why is a game running slow or lagging?

GameCube and Wii emulation is demanding. Try reducing the internal resolution, turning off heavy shader enhancements, or switching graphics backends (e.g., Vulkan vs. OpenGL ES).
